Monopol Hotel is located in the exact centre of old part of the city, on the cross of Dworcowa and Dyrekcyjna St.
Renowated with a great style hotel was opened in Autumn 2003.

The history of the hotel and legendary Café Central is inseparable connected with XIX century history of Katowice. Under the name of Monopol hotel was opened in 1903 and surely was one of the most luxurious places in Poland of the 20's. The prosperity of the hotel was in the 20's of XX century. Monopol was a favorite place for meetings of financial, artistic and intellectual elite. In May of 1934 Karol Szymanowski have stayed here, and at October 31, 1936 Jan Kiepura and Marta Eggerth had here their wedding. Hotel was visited also by Artur Rubinstein, Tadeusz Boy-Zelenski, Eugeniusz Bodo. Now, 100 years after founding hotel was artistry renovated and waits for their guests. Orginal design, elegant interiors calls the atmosphere of 30's in harmonic connection with modernity. The spirit of previous ages is alive again, and the history never ends.
